Adorn Me jewelry welcomes custom orders, repairs (if it's within
the realm of possibility) and what we call jewelry refreshing,
which is really a sort of renewal.
Custom and Special Order Jewelry
Because Adorn Me believes in beautiful jewelry in all
sizes, your jewelry be made to fit you. We hand craft
custom, special order jewelry in various sizes, and if you ever
see something you want that's already made but want it re-sized
to fit, that often can be done.
If you have a piece
of jewelry that you want re-created, it might be possible. Sometimes
we can make an exact re-creation. Othert imes, just an approximation,
copying the spirit of the piece, if not the exact elements of
your jewlery. We can also often do re-stringing, or taking pre-existing
jewelry and putting it together in a fresh way, with new stones,
crystals, etc.
It is also usually possible for us to re-create something
we have already made and sold before, unless it is listed as
a one-of-a-kind (OOAK) item and the client has paid extra for
to keep it OOAK and not available to anyone else -- the caveat
being that sometimes we cannot always get the exact same materials
used in the piece you've seen and want, and stones always vary.
If you see something you like and it is not marked as OOAK, and
you would like for Adorn Me to re-create it, contact us
and mention the name of the piece and if you would like it to
be the same size, color, etc. If you like something but prefer
to have it in gold-filled, or using different colors, that is
possible, too. Keep in mind that for some alterations there may
be an extra fee. An estimate will be given as to the price of
your custom order, and before beginning, the customer will need
to pay half down, and then the other half (whatever it ends up
being, as an estimate is only that, an estimate, and certain
factors can change pricing up or down) is due upon completion,
with photos sent out via email. Please contact
us for
more information.
Here are a couple of bracelet and earring sets that were made
specifically for a client. They are not, of course, for sale,
but similar items can be made to fit you and your tastes.
Starting with the most recent special orders...
Pacifica
This set is named after the ever-changing moods of the Pacific
Ocean: the light blue (amazonite nuggets) for warm, calm days
-- those summer days where the heat and the cool breeze almost
seem dreamlike together. Then the dark teal (apatite nuggets)
for colder, less calm days, where the water is choppy and it
looks cold. Finally, the greenish (butter jade nuggets) for the
roiling, angry sea the Pacific was after the 2006 tsunami. It
was green. A shade of green I had never seen before.

Our client had an 8-strand neckace of gorgeous little freshwater
pearls -- very tiny. It was given her by her husband and it had
been too small for years, so she wasn't able to wear it and wanted
to. She wrote me asking if the pearls could be re-strung, making
the necklace longer. I offered her the option of adding stones
to it to add some interest. She liked that idea and said she
wanted stone nuggets water colors, and that she'd also like the
accent of dragonflies here and there.
I sent her photos of the various nuggets, telling her which ones
I felt would work best, and she approved them.

So, the necklace is now 36" long, and has side details
of the various nuggets at differing heights, as well as small
2mm silver beads, and on one side, little bali silver dragonflies.
It also has a lovely little drop at the back toggle clasp, where
hangs a pearl and one nugget of each color -- with a top drilled
apatite at the bottom, sharing space with a dragonfly.
It
was evident that there was enough pearls left for either one
more strand or a matching three-strand bracelet and earrings.
She liked the second option, so a bracelet and earrings were
created.

The bracelet is really a miniature of the necklace in many ways,
down to the matching bali silver toggle closure and the drop
hanging from said closure, as you can see from the bracelet close-up.

Our client's preferred earring length is between 1 and 1 1/2
inches from the drop, and they use, a bit differently, all of
the elements of the necklace and bracelet. They are suspended
from sterling ear wires.

Of course, it's always great fun when a client who knows what
she wants gives free rein in the creation of a piece, or set,
of jewelry. This set was so very satisfying to create, and that
she loves it so much is the ultimate goal and pleasure for this
jewelry designer.
Vineyard
It's called "Vineyard" because of the lovely, very
natural-looking mix of greens and purples. This necklace was
a custom order from a client who wanted something special for
her friend and workmate. She wanted something in purple and green
and left it to me to come up with a design. Purple and green
is one a favorite color combo, so it was a pure pleasure to create
this necklace.

Stones were collected with an eye on what would
make nice contrasts, both in texture and color, and came up with
first, a really unusual, substantial in size, purple African
Opal focal stone. It's big at 1 3/8" square, and feels just
weighty enough. It is the focal stone that makes this necklace
a one of a kind (OOAK) piece of jewelry. It's the only one Adorn
Me has seen in our jewel-hunting 'travels,' and it's doubt there
will be another one just like it.

The African Opal is surrounded by two AB tanzanite swarovskis, lovely prehenite
nuggets, large richgreen oval Nephrite (or Jadeite) stones, Amethyst nuggets,
lavender and purple czech beads, and little sterling silver beads throughout.
It closes via a lobster claw clasp. At the clasp, you can see
the large top-drilled amethyst nugget, attached with a daisy
bali bead and silver ball headpin, which makes it look like a
flower. The total length of this necklace is 17".

Belle Nuit
Or, Beautiful Night. This set was created after a client saw
the Ebony Abundant Venus and the black coin disc beads we used
on that piece. She told me what she wanted, and using black glass
disc coin beads, hematite seed beads, sterling silver, and jet
rivoli swarovski crystals, we created them. The earrings are
suspended from sterling silver posts and are 1 3/8" long,
starting from the post, so it's total length. The bracelet is
almost 8 3/4" long.

Rainy Day
This set was made using sterling silver wire, purple-y plum
blister pearls, white freshwater pearls, swarovski crystals,
amethyst nuggets, and various kinds of little glass beads to
add a bit of glimmer.
The bracelet is about 9" long
and the earrings are about 1 1/2-1 3/4" long, starting the
measure at the earring wire loop, where the dangle starts.
A freshwater pearl and seed bead:
This is the center focal point for the bracelet. You can see
the beautiful colorings and glow of the blister pearls and the
freshwater pearls, and how the little Czech seed beads, with
their purple centers and blue layer of glass compliment each
other perfectly.
